INTP The Engineeris the indicated character of me by the Myers-Briggs Test Indicator. To me, especially today, engineers are thought to sit on facing PCs all the day and just code. In fact, they aren’t, according to Briggs. They only have to be logical, individualistic, reserved, and curious and to be able to explain how things work theoretically. I was happy to hear that because I understand at the moment I don’t need to go buying textbooks about JAVA or C and Python and stay up all the night to procure at least the right to be called engineer so as not to say ‘it was definitely wrong because I don’t even know how to code’ before the next class starts tomorrow. So, I should say I’m a completely ‘The engineer’ type of person. It hundred percent fits me. I am coherent, not group-oriented, restrained, inquisitive, therefore I wouldn’t say the Test Indicator gets something wrong. It fits me, though I am not sure that this indication comes to explain my personality because I surely have the personality mentioned above, but I would say they are not my main personality or not the ones which describe me well. I think they refer to one of my personality. Categorization is powerful and sometimes beneficial, however humans should be put in complex understanding.

  1. I totally agree with the idea you give at the very end of your essay. We should not forget that our personalities are quite complex and even changeable.

  2. I thought it was interesting to see that the MBTI test is quite accurate for you. And I think you are right, it is also very important to recognize that people's personalities are complex. If someone did something that was not nice to you, they may have had another reason or another intention.

  3. Yes! I also think humans are too complex to be simply explained by a personality test.
But in some way using personality tests correctly can help us know ourselves better and accept who we are.
