Something I Have Learned Along the Way - Natsumi Fujita

What I have learned these days is that you should have enough courage to decline.
I used to be a 'yes man'. Whatever I was asked to do, I would accept them.
However, I was packed with a lot of tasks and events and felt exhausted.
Then I tried to prioritize things in terms of my willingness and how much I will learn or get through the tasks or activities.
After that, I became able to focus on what I like to do and what is important for me.
That makes my life satisfying.
Declining is important not only for me, but also for others.
If I am overwhelmed by tasks, I can't spend enough time on doing them, hence the performance that doesn't meet the expectation.
I'd like to always be conscious about prioritizing things to make my life more comfortable.
I tend to try to do too many things without considering my capacity, which results in fault and makes me depressed. It is true that trying much helps us develop, but we should also take care so as not to be overwhelmed by the amount of work.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your idea. I think we can do things only as far as we can, not beyond our capacities, so it is important to concentrate on what we should do.
ReplyDeleteInsightful post Natsumi. Prioritizing will indeed bring you a more comfortable life and I imagine it will bring you a more successful one too. Spending time doing what is important simply makes sense. :-)
