YUE XU
I’m from Zhejiang Province ,CHINA. ZheJiang Province is a beautiful
place where the economic grows fast and has many headquarters of IT companies such
as Alibaba. Through the first day’s class, I was very surprised to know that Zhejiang
Province is the place where the first kiwifruit seeds were taken by
missionaries to New Zealand.
Now, I am studying at the Graduate School of Economics, the University of Tokyo,
majoring in Management. Before it, I spent four years of undergraduate life in Shanghai and
I have been to Kyoto, Japan for one year as an exchange student. I really love Kyoto
and Japan, which made me decide to get my master’s degree and then work in Japan.
I like street
dancing, Locking dance specifically which is a style of funk dance
and we call it Locking dance because the dancers always strike a pose suddenly
from a fast movement just like they are “locked”. I also like going to Cafés with my friends and
eating some deserts. At home, I like watching movies and anime.
I
finished my job hunting recently and the company really emphasizes English. So,
I want to use the one year left to improve my English before starting working.
I have never been to China, but I would like to go there someday. I love spicy food, so if you have any restaurant recommendations, please let me know!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment! You can go to ikebukuro and there are so many original spicy food from sichuan(四川)province. Like 「湘遇」、「麻辣唐府」、「李厨」!
DeleteI have a friend from ZheJiang! I want to know more about your hometown :)
ReplyDeleteOh really! Zhejiang province is a really beatiful place and is the Origin of many delicious food and fruits like Onshu mandarins(温州ミカン)~.
DeleteWhat a beautiful photo! Did you take it by yourself? I like cherry blossoms.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard the word Locking dance. It sounds interesting.
Thank you for your comment!
DeleteYeah! I took it at Kasai Rinkai Park. It was really beautiful.
Yeah, Locking dance is one of the oldest street dances just like breaking dance and popping dance!
What a beautiful cherry blossom! Is it the cherry blossom in Kyoto? I would like to know what made you decide to try to come to Kyoto.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment!
DeleteI took it at Kasai Rinkai Park~
Because there is a Study Abroad programs offered by the Chinese government and I applied for it !~
Nice to know that your company encourages the use of English in the workplace. That provides immediate extrinsic motivation for you to brush up on your English doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt must have been nice living in Kyoto for a year. I love visiting the temple gardens there. They are one of the wonders of the world to my eyes.
David :-)
Thank you for your comment!
DeleteI totally agree with you, it's true the temple gradens are really amazing !
I've never been to China, but I know some famous companies like Alibaba, which you mentioned above. I think China has a lot of economic power and sometimes I am quite impressed by how well Chinese companies manage themselves. I major in economics , so I sometimes check what is going on in China, and I imagine that when it comes to EV, China could be the top country which could export a variety of EVs to the world!
ReplyDeleteI'm really happy to hear that you love Kyoto, because my high school was located in Kyoto. Kyoto has a lot of beautiful temples and always makes me nostalgic.
Dancing is very cool!! I'd like to try it in the future! I hope you enjoy your campus life this year and enjoy your career from next year!
Thank you Kenta! You really know a lot about China and I hope we can discuss the economic and some technologies in China.
DeleteYeah, Kyoto is a really amazing city and I want to live in there again if I have a chance!
I've watched Locking dancing on youtube. I'd like to see you dancing:)
ReplyDeleteThank you ! Although I am not so good at it now, yeah, if there is a chance, I'll show you!
DeleteYou decided to get a job and live inJapan because Kyoto had become your favorite? How decisive you are. I think your decision is not wrong , Kyoto should surely deserve your brave determination. I'm not sure street dancing is very thriving in Kyoto but it must be a mecca of cafes. There are a plenty of cafes you have to visit often around the very attractive and historical temples. I wish you wonderful life in Japan.
